Bacon and Cheese Quiche (nladdpic)

Ingredients

  • 1 single pie crust, sour-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup half-and-half milk
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled (3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup shredded swiss or cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Prepare pie crust for a single-crust pie. If using a store-bought crust, follow directions on package.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix half-and-half, eggs, salt and pepper; set aside.
  4. Layer bacon and cheeses in the crust-lined pan
  5. Pour egg mixture over top.
  6. Bake 40-50 minutes or until center of quiche is firm. Let stand five minutes, then cut into wedges.

Notes: May be stored in refrigerator for up to three days, tightly covered. Also freezes well. To reheat quiche, cover with foil in place in a 325° oven until warm, about 15 minutes.
